The old newspaper office where the Hokianga Herald from 1958, and prior to that the Hokianga Star were published. The two storey building next door was first build as the Bank of New Zealand and was used later as a dentist and then a home bakery, now an art gallery.
The Herald Building is soon to be restored and will be used as a community centre. A group has been formed under the Kohukohu Community Trust to do this work - see the Hokianga Herald Group website for more details.
